England after winning The Ashes hasn't able to impressed the billionaires who runs the IPL.
Out of two day, first day IPL auction held in Bangalore, three of the England Ashes were not selected by any league.Graeme Swann, Jimmy Anderson and Matt Prior were all unsold as Indian star Gautam Gambhir went for a record £1.5m. Even Kevin Pietersen (above) saw his value plummet. After going for £1m last year, KP was sold this time to Deccan Chargers for £425,000.
Stuart Broad was bought by Kings XI Punjab for £265,000, Eoin Morgan to Kolkata Knight Riders for £240,000 and Paul Collingwood to Rajasthan Royals for £170,000.
At least England coach Andy Flower will be pleased that some of England's stars will not be playing in the IPL.
"The IPL is a tricky subject for us," said Flower. "I don't blame any of the players for wanting to go play. But it is tricky because the schedules are so heavy and rest is sometimes as important as the hard training we put them through."
